About Resize FSecs 2.5…
This is a utility to adjust reported sizes of files in your
FileSections. I wrote it originally so that my FileSections would
accurately report sizes of files which I Stuffed or Packed after they
were initially uploaded, and for those occasions when someone sends me
an updated application without documentation and I add the documentation
to the Stuffit archive. Since Host computes allowable download times
from the sizes stated in your FileSections, it’s nice to keep them
accurate.
This version works with both Host 1.4 *and* Host 2.x FileSection
formats.
In addition to size adjustments, Resize FSecs can optionally globally
change the name of an uploader -- I used this feature once upon a time
to change all the “System Operator” uploads to my name -- and the basic
access level for your files.
To use it, just fire it up and have it read a FileSection on your BBS
disk. It will follow the listed path to compute the size of the actual
file, and will rewrite the listing if necessary. If you’ve elected to
change an uploader name, it will do so for every match of the old name
you’ve entered. If you’ve enabled the “Adjust Download Clearance…”
option, it will change all file listings in the FileSection to the level
you’ve set.
This application is for the use of registered Archie users only and is
not to be distributed on bulletin boards other than Glassell Park.
Version 2.5 fixes a problem that the previous version had changing the
uploader name in a FileSection.
